Dean is a Partner of Maritana, based in Melbourne. Dean has been a Managing Partner in Australia for a global executive search firm where he worked for 15 years. He has for many years specialised in senior leadership appointments for Board, CEO’s and C-suite roles.

Dean began his career in consulting and investment banking, before joining Pacific Dunlop in Hong Kong. He then worked at General Electric for 10 years where he held business development positions in GE Capital and led a number of acquisitions in Australia. He also served as CEO of the Energy and IT divisions in Australia and Head of Strategy with GE’s US$16 billion Energy division in the US.

He is a Director of Melbourne Business School, Opportunity International, a not-for-profit microfinance provider; Summer Foundation, a disability housing provider and AusCycling. Previously, Dean held leadership positions with the Baptist Church and with Scouts Australia.

Dean earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Marketing from Melbourne Business School. He was awarded the Commercial Travellers Prize in Marketing. He also formally qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
